Continental Knitting with Vera Marcu - MELBOURNE
This workshop is for people who already know how to knit but are interested in the continental style of knitting, with the yarn tensioned on the left hand’s index finger.Â
Participants will learn about the two different ways to knit and purl, known as the Eastern and Western methods. By analysing the advantages of these methods and how they can be used in the “combination” technique, one has the opportunity to become a faster, more efficient knitter. Attention will also be given to “reading” the fabric as that is a valuable tool in understanding different stitch patterns.Â
Through having a limited number of participants, one on one time will be spent so that at the end of the workshop a good foundation of this technique will be achieved. The new skills will be applied by working on a decorative dishcloth.Â
What's Included:
- 2 hours x 1 session
- 1 ball of Morris Avalon 8ply (colour selected in class)
- pattern
- 10% discount card for and in store purchase
What to Bring:
- 3.75 mm needlesÂ
- small scissors
